Biography

James Alexander Seddon served as the Secretary of War for the Confederate States of America, holding one of the most critical positions in the Southern government during the Civil War. A Virginia politician and diplomat, Seddon was appointed to this crucial role in 1862 and worked tirelessly to organize the Confederacy's military resources and strategy.
