Raúl Héctor Castro rose from humble beginnings in Mexico to become a trailblazing figure in Arizona politics, earning his law degree at the University of Arizona and serving as a judge before moving into diplomacy and statewide office.

He broke barriers as the first Mexican-American governor of Arizona and as a U.S. ambassador, championing fair treatment for all citizens and mentoring future generations of public servants while remaining a devoted family man.
