Biography
Richard K.A. Kletting emigrated from Europe to Utah and rose to become the state's preeminent architect, designing the Utah State Capitol and a succession of civic landmarks that defined Salt Lake City's skyline.
He blended classical proportions with regional materials, training apprentices and advocating for thoughtful urban planning so that the buildings would reflect both dignity and the pioneering spirit of the territory.
