Samuel Hale

Biography

Samuel Hale was a longtime resident of Portsmouth who witnessed nearly a century of American history. He lived through the colonial period, the American Revolution, and the establishment of the new nation, contributing to his community throughout his long life.

Hale's legacy is preserved at Old North Cemetery, where he was laid to rest in 1807. His remarkable lifespan from 1718 to 1807 encompasses one of the most transformative periods in American history.
