Biography

Simon Addis lived a long life of eighty-nine years, witnessing nearly a century of American history from the colonial period through the early nineteenth century. His extended lifespan allowed him to observe the transformation of the young nation across multiple generations and significant historical periods.

Addis was laid to rest at Elm Ridge Cemetery, where his memory is honored. His long life represented a bridge between the colonial era and the mature American republic of the nineteenth century.
