Sir Francis Waller, 4th Baronet
1880–1914 (age 34)
British Army officer
Biography
Sir Francis Waller, 4th Baronet, was raised in the traditions of the Irish landed gentry and carried forward the sense of public duty that defined his family title, preparing to guide his estates even as Europe drifted toward crisis.
When war came in 1914 he answered the call with the Royal Irish Rifles, leading his men with the same steadiness he had shown at home; he was killed in the opening campaigns and now rests in the Royal Irish Rifles Graveyard at Laventie.
