Biography

Sir George Larpent, 1st Baronet, was a devoted public servant and patron of the arts whose intellect and business acumen shaped his work in Parliament and beyond. As a politician he championed trade and infrastructure improvements, while also fostering cultural life through his support of exhibitions and collecting distinguished works of art.

Known for his dignified presence and charity, he spent his later years guiding young statesmen and continued to advocate for the public good until his passing. He was laid to rest at Kensal Green Cemetery, where his noble efforts remain remembered.
