Biography
Stephen Badlam was a respected furniture maker in Dorchester, crafting sturdy and graceful pieces that furnished the homes and churches of his neighbors; his workshop produced chairs, tables, and pews that reflected both utility and care.
He also lent his voice to town affairs, supporting apprenticeships and the Dorchester North Burying Ground, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and civic-mindedness when he passed in 1815.
