Biography

Thomas Francis Enright, laid to rest at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, answered the call of his country in 1917 and became one of the American Expeditionary Force’s earliest casualties in France; his name is still spoken with reverence by those who mark the graves of the soldiers who first carried the nation’s hopes across the ocean.

Though his service was brief, the courage of Private Enright inspired family, neighbors and parishioners, and his portrait continues to hang in the hearts of the community, a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice of young men who stepped forward when the bell of duty rang.
