Thomas Sterry Hunt (1826-1892) was a pioneering chemist and geologist whose studies with the Geological Survey of Canada and later work in New England expanded knowledge of minerals and their origins.

He shared his findings through teaching and writing, arguing for the importance of geochemistry and helping to guide the next generation of scientists.
