Biography
Victor H. Metcalf represented California in the U.S. House before accepting President Roosevelt's appointments as Secretary of Commerce and Labor and later Secretary of the Navy, guiding national shipping, labor, and naval policies as the country stepped onto the world stage.
After leaving public office he continued to counsel younger leaders and cherish the ideals of fair commerce, and he is interred at Mountain View Cemetery with gratitude for his decades of statesmanship.
