Biography

Vince Coleman was a Canadian train dispatcher whose fateful actions during the Halifax Explosion of December 6, 1917, demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness. At the moment of the disaster, Coleman remained at his post to warn an approaching train of the danger, sacrificing his own life to save others.

Coleman's heroic act during the Halifax Explosion stands as a testament to human courage and the willingness to put others' safety before one's own. He was laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery, where his memory is honored as a hero of Canadian history.
