Biography
Virginia Minor was a pioneering suffragist whose leadership of the Missouri Woman Suffrage Association and her challenge in Minor v. Happersett brought national attention to the question of women’s enfranchisement.
Despite the Supreme Court’s ruling against her, she continued to advocate for equal rights, mentoring younger activists and upholding the belief that progress would come for women’s voices, a conviction honored at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
