Biography
Waller T. Patton, born in 1835, was a career military officer and educator who taught military science before rejoining his regiment at the outset of the Civil War. He led the 7th Virginia Infantry with calm determination and paid the ultimate price leading his men through the fields of Gettysburg.
His remains rest at Stonewall Cemetery, where fellow soldiers honor his bravery. Patton's steadiness and sacrifice continue to be remembered by descendants and historians alike.
