Biography
William Edmond Armitage (1830–1873) was a devoted ecclesiastical leader who served the Episcopal Church with dedication and faith. Appointed as the Second Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin in 1870, he provided spiritual guidance and administrative leadership to the growing Anglican community in the region.
Though his tenure was brief, ending with his death in 1873, Bishop Armitage's service during these formative years of the diocese left an indelible mark on the institution and the faithful he served.
