William Ruffin Cox

Biography

William Ruffin Cox, who first distinguished himself as a military officer, turned his talents to the law and later represented North Carolina in the halls of Congress, carrying with him the lessons of service and reconciliation.

He spent his later years supporting veterans and civic causes, and he is laid to rest at Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
