Biography

Winfield T. Durbin was born in 1847 and served his state as Indiana’s twenty-fifth governor from 1901 to 1905. He reorganized the state police, improved education, and sought to root out corruption, believing that government must earn the public’s trust through transparency and accountability.

After leaving the governor’s office, he remained a mentor to young leaders, encouraging them to embrace public service with humility and courage.
