Biography

Brigadier General Abram Duryée led infantry with distinction throughout the Civil War, most notably at Bull Run and during the Peninsula Campaign, earning a reputation for calm resolve under fire.

After the conflict he retired to private life but remained a respected figure among veterans, and he was interred at Green-Wood Cemetery where visitors recall his steadfast dedication.
