Biography

Alexander Adams, born in 1780, was a seasoned mariner whose skills at sea and in diplomacy forged a lifelong bond with the Hawaiian Kingdom. As an advisor to King Kamehameha I, he brought navigation expertise and careful counsel that helped steer the islands through early international engagements.

He remained devoted to the welfare of the islands he came to call home, and his memory is honored at Oʻahu Cemetery where generations remember his contributions to Hawaiʻi’s emerging identity.
