Biography
Antonio Cruzado (1725-1804) was a dedicated missionary who served the spiritual and material needs of communities in colonial California. His work at Mission San Gabriel Arcángel represented the missionary efforts of the Spanish colonial period to establish Christianity and European settlement in the American West.
Father Cruzado's nearly eighty years of life spanned a period of significant change in North America, and his missionary work contributed to the religious and cultural development of the region. He was interred at Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, the site of his devoted service.
