Biography
Charles George Herbermann emigrated to America and became a towering figure in Catholic scholarship, serving as a professor and editor at the Catholic University of America where he championed learning and thoughtful dialogue.
His leadership as editor of the Catholic Encyclopedia and his tireless efforts to document the history and contributions of the Church left a lasting intellectual legacy before he was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
