Biography

Dwight H. Kelton, born in 1843, served the Union cause and then the regular Army in the quartermaster and staff corps, keeping trains of supply moving across vast distances and adapting logistics to the growing needs of the postwar Army.

He continued to refine supply procedures, helping to sustain soldiers during peacetime postings and extraordinary mobilizations alike, and when he passed in 1906 he was buried with honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
