Biography
Frederick S. Ellis served as mayor of Madison and in the Wisconsin Legislature, where he avidly supported improvements to streets, schools, and the public sphere of the growing capital city.
He brought the same energy to charitable endeavors and to mentoring younger politicians, and he is remembered in Woodlawn Cemetery as a leader who worked tirelessly for the people he served.
