Biography
Fred G. Aandahl earned the trust of North Dakota’s citizens through decades of service rooted in agriculture, education, and a keen understanding of rural needs. As governor, he guided the state through the transition from war to peace by strengthening schools, expanding rural electrification, and keeping farm families at the center of public policy.
He continued that steady stewardship in Congress and in private life, advocating for fair farm policy, supporting returning veterans, and returning home to stay actively involved in community affairs until his passing.
