John D. Larkin

Biography

John D. Larkin (1845–1926) founded the Larkin Soap Company, pioneering direct-to-customer marketing that brought clean living products to homes across the nation.

Beyond commerce he invested in his colleagues, building the Larkin Administration Building and supporting education and cultural programs, and he is interred with honor at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
