Biography
Kīnaʻu (1805–1839) was a Hawaiian princess and politician who inherited the responsibilities and privileges of her elevated station during a transformative era for the Hawaiian Islands. As a member of the royal family, she participated in the governance and political decisions that shaped Hawaiian society during the early 19th century.
Though her life was cut short at thirty-four years of age, Kīnaʻu's contributions to Hawaiian political life during her time were significant. She was honored with burial in the Royal Mausoleum of Hawaii, reflecting her status and importance to the Hawaiian nation.
