Biography

Marie Louise Chouteau was a woman of the prominent Chouteau family, one of the most influential merchant families in early St. Louis. Her life was deeply connected to the commercial and social development of the region.

As a member of the Chouteau family, Marie Louise was part of the foundation upon which much of St. Louis's early prosperity was built. She was interred at Calvary Cemetery, where her family's legacy continues to be honored.
