Richard P. Leary

Biography

Richard P. Leary answered the call to sea as a young officer, commanding ships and shore stations with an emphasis on readiness and the welfare of his sailors.

His careful stewardship earned respect from peers, and in 1901 he was interred at the United States Naval Academy Cemetery, where his memory lodges among fellow mariners.
