Biography
Sacheverell Chandos-Pole (1769–1813) belonged to the Derbyshire gentry and devoted himself to the quiet responsibilities of county life. He discharged his duties as magistrate and steward of the Radbourne estates with care, mindful that stewardship of place was also stewardship of people.
He took a personal interest in the wellbeing of St Andrew's Church, Radbourne, and in sustaining the rural community around it, so that his name is still greeted with respect by those who pass the stone memorial within its walls.
