Biography
Theodore Gaillard Hunt studied law in New Orleans and served the people of Louisiana in the United States House of Representatives, where his speeches reflected a deep understanding of Southern trade and the aspirations of his neighbors.
After office he turned to writing, publishing essays that captured the complexity of his time and supporting libraries and civic causes in New Orleans, where he later found his final repose in Metairie Cemetery.
