Biography
Vincent Hugo Bendix applied his early talents for mechanics to invent safer automotive systems, founding the Bendix Corporation and helping to make travel more reliable for millions of motorists.
He then turned his attention to aviation, building engines and sponsoring the prestigious Bendix Trophy Race to spur the industry forward, and when he passed in 1945 he was buried at Graceland Cemetery, leaving a legacy of innovation.
