William Nathan Harrell Smith

Biography

William Nathan Harrell Smith represented North Carolina in the United States Congress and later served on his state’s high court, bringing thoughtful judgment to both legislative and judicial duties.

He also taught and mentored younger lawyers, remaining engaged in the civic life of his home state until his death, and his memory rests at Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
