Eli Long

Biography

Major General Eli Long was a Union officer whose leadership helped guide troops through some of the Civil War’s most demanding campaigns. He carried himself with quiet dignity, always mindful of the burdens placed upon the young soldiers who served under him.

In peace he continued to support veterans and their families, offering guidance and friendship while insisting that the service of so many must be remembered with gratitude.
