Biography
General Nelson A. Miles earned distinction in the Civil War, the Indian campaigns, and as Army Chief of Staff with a combination of battlefield valor and organizational insight. His willingness to face danger alongside his men and his tireless work on their behalf made him a trusted figure on the front lines and in the halls of the Pentagon alike.
