Biography

Harold Geiger was among the Army’s pioneering aviators, directing early aviation fields and pushing for safer, more reliable aircraft in an era when flight was still a daring experiment. He balanced technical expertise with concern for the young pilots under his command, contributing to the professional standards of what would become the Army Air Corps.

Geiger’s life ended while he continued to pursue the promise of flight, and his legacy lives on in the institutions that grew stronger from his leadership and in the resting place that honors him at Arlington.
