James K. Marshall

Biography

James K. Marshall, born in 1839, served as a Confederate officer whose calm leadership helped steady his troops during several of the war's hardest moments.

He gave his life in 1863 while standing with the men he commanded, and his memory lives on as an example of the honor and sense of duty that marked so many of the young officers of that era.
