Biography
John Moore’s military career spanned the Civil War and its aftermath, during which he served with honor and devotion to the Union cause. His calm leadership and professional skill earned the respect of peers and subordinates alike.
Following retirement, he remained an advocate for the nation’s defense, and upon his death in 1907 he was interred at Arlington National Cemetery, where his legacy of service continues to be remembered.
