Michel Dragon

Biography

Michel Dragon (1739–1821) lived a long life spanning more than eight decades during a transformative period in Louisiana's history. He witnessed the transition of New Orleans from colonial rule to American governance, experiencing the profound changes that shaped the city's character.

Dragon was interred in Saint Louis Cemetery No. 1, where he rests among the community he called home throughout his many years.
