Montgomery M. Taylor

Biography

General Montgomery M. Taylor (1869–1952) led troops through an era that saw the United States assert itself across the globe, overseeing major commands and sharing his expertise on foreign assignments. His steady hand helped navigate the challenges of maintaining readiness abroad while supporting domestic Army programs.

Taylor believed in the power of disciplined training and the importance of strong civil-military cooperation, lessons he imparted to every command post he touched. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, where his long service to the Army and the nation is respectfully honored.
