Biography

Persis Goodale Thurston Taylor, daughter of missionary pioneers, spent her life teaching, translating and recording the personal stories of missionaries and Hawaiian families alike, keeping alive the early days of shared faith and service.

Her gentle leadership sustained Sunday schools and domestic instruction, while her published recollections offered future generations a window into the islands' formative decades before her interment at O'ahu Cemetery.
