Military Officer
Biography
Arthur Hallet Page II entered military service as the United States prepared for the Great War, earning a commission in the Army after studies that combined academic discipline with a sense of duty. He served with the artillery, learning to balance technical skills with leadership in the field, and stayed with his battery through training and into wartime operations.
After the armistice he continued to serve by helping to reorganize peacetime units and by sharing lessons learned with younger officers, contributing quietly but faithfully to the readiness of the Army until his untimely death in 1930. His comrades remembered him as a steady, thoughtful officer who cared deeply for the troops he led.
