Biography
George Pickett was a military officer whose service spanned the Revolutionary War and the early decades of the American republic. Born in 1752, he answered the call to arms during the nation's struggle for independence and continued his military career in the years that followed.
Pickett lived to the age of sixty-nine, dedicating much of his life to the defense and service of his country. His burial at Hollywood Cemetery, a place of honor for Virginia's distinguished sons, reflects the respect accorded to his military service and sacrifice.
